On June 5, 2016, in the lobby of the Visitor Service Center at Beijing Olympic Park, on one side were the shy and timid young security guards whispering to each other, their eyes sparkling with infinite anticipation; on the other side were calligraphy masters skillfully wielding their brushes. Such a scene is rare.

This is a public welfare慰问盛会 specially planned for the frontline security personnel of Olympic Park!

The event was attended by a group of artists including Yan Zhentang, former deputy director of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage and former president of the China Collectors Association, Hu Zhenmin, former secretary of the Party Leadership Group and vice chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Liu Lanfang, vice chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Mi Nanyang, a researcher at the China International Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute and a famous calligrapher, Lei Mingdong, vice president of the China Calligraphy Art Research Institute and a renowned painter, Wang Yinquan, a member of the China Quyi Artists Association and executive director of the Chinese Academy of Arts' Recitation Art Center, Li Jiacun, a famous performing artist and painter, Cheng Maoquan, a director of the Beijing Calligraphers Association and a well-known calligrapher, Ding Qian, a director of the China Calligraphers Association and vice president of the China Hard Pen Calligraphy Association, Tian Boping, vice president of the Beijing Calligraphers Association, Fu Guangli, a member of the Beijing Artists Association, Li Zengrui, a famous crosstalk performer and calligrapher, Wang Qianxiang, a famous crosstalk performer and calligrapher, Gao Mingyuan, a member of the China Artists Association and a renowned painter, Su Zeli, a member of the China Calligraphers Association and a director of the Beijing Calligraphers Association, Wang Shifan, a member of the China Artists Association and a famous painter, Wu Ming, vice president of the China United National Calligraphy and Painting Institute and a renowned painter, Dai Jianzhong, a famous strength painter, Dong Xuchun, a member of the China Calligraphers Association, Meng Tianyu, deputy director of the Chinese Character Writing Assessment Committee and president of the Jinghua Lantian Calligraphy and Painting Institute, Su Wanshun, a famous calligrapher and deputy director of the Beijing Taoist Calligraphy and Painting Art Committee, Jin Bo, a famous singer from the Rocket Army Political Work Troupe, Zhen Qi, a young painter from the China Quyi Association, and Dingdang Xie Yunshan, vice president of the China Children's Actors Association and a famous young actor, among others.

The event was initiated during the Two Sessions when Liu Lanfang, a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and vice chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and other capital artists visited Chengde for慰问演出 and listened to the government's 2015 work summary report of the CPPCC. The report highlighted the achievements of CPPCC member Qi Haijun in security work in the capital.

Since the 2008 Olympic Games, Qi Haijun from Century Zhongbao (Beijing) Security Service Co., Ltd. has led security personnel to work on the front line at the National Convention Center and the Olympic Park control area, making outstanding contributions to a safe Beijing and harmonious security, receiving two second-class merits, five third-class merits, and titles such as advanced individual and excellent security personnel. In addition, he established a security company, providing jobs for over a thousand unemployed youth in his hometown, actively donating money and goods to impoverished households, and facilitating the sale of unsold agricultural products from his hometown in Beijing.

After hearing the report, Liu Lanfang and other capital artists were moved and specifically commissioned Beijing Harmonious Life Cultural Communication Co., Ltd. to plan and coordinate, forming a team of artists to慰问 the representatives of frontline security personnel in the capital.

Under the organization of the Harmonious Literary and Art Exchange Center, the artists visited Olympic Park in groups, presenting a rich cultural and artistic feast to the security personnel working on the front line in the form of a calligraphy and painting event.

The Olympic Park Management Committee co-organized this慰问活动. Tian Juqing, the executive deputy director of the management committee, spoke on site and presented honorary certificates to the representatives of the artists.

At the慰问现场, the air was filled with the fragrance of ink and warmth. The young security guards surrounded the calligraphers, watching intently as the calligraphers created their works, with bursts of admiration echoing.

Witnessing the calligraphers creating right in front of them, the young security guards were clearly inspired, vowing to Xiao Ao that the artistic works of the calligraphers were extremely precious, and their concern for grassroots security personnel was even more valuable. They would not disappoint the artists' earnest hopes and would work harder to contribute to building a safe Beijing.

Seeing the serious expressions of the young security guards, the calligraphers became more and more inspired, unknowingly writing more and more, filling the space with masterpieces.

Being on site, facing so many calligraphy masters, what did Xiao Ao gain?
